ANC Innovating LED Opportunities at MLB Stadiums

March 24, 2024

Three decades after the Milwaukee Brewers and Detroit Tigers first tested the viability of sponsor signage behind home plate (1993) and two years after MLB approved the Mets testing home plate LED digital signage (2022), the door has opened for this technology to become more the norm in 2024.

That’s because three more MLB teams – Milwaukee, Seattle, and Washington - are expected to join the Mets this season offering advertisers high-resolution LED digital signage inventory behind home plate.  It’s poetic that the Brewers, one of the two teams that ushered in home plate signage in 1993 and ANC, are once again at the forefront of innovation.  Whereas Jerry Cifarelli, Sr. then at Van Wagner was intimately involved in those original installations, this time ANC, led by his son Jerry Cifarelli Jr. Is leading this new trend, handling both the Washington and Milwaukee installations. Alongside digital home plate, fans and sponsors can expect to see high-impact base line field level LED and low-profile LED dugout lips.

In addition to installing the new signage at both Nationals Park and American Family Field in Milwaukee as part of these stadiums’ overall signage upgrades, ANC is also adding four more Division 1 college baseball locations to their roster which now numbers eleven such fields. The four new college baseball and softball fields adding home plate digital signage this season include: Penn State’s Medlar Field at Lubrano Park; Sewell-Thomas Stadium and Rhoads Softball Stadium at the University of Alabama; and the University of Arkansas’ Baum-Walker Stadium George Cole Field.

“We had great success participating in baseball’s test of home plate digital signage with the Mets Spring Training this year and the Syracuse Mets the past few seasons and then honed our process at a eight college fields over the past few seasons,” said Jerry Cifarelli Jr, CEO of ANC.  “Our proprietary home plate digital signage system is definitely ready for MLB, and we are confident that once teams and their advertisers see what’s now possible at Nationals Park and American Family Field, home plate digital signage will soon be ubiquitous throughout MLB.”
